Dosage recommendation
- 10-20 mg for adults
- 2-4 ml suspension/10 kg body weight for children
- 20 mg for acute and sub-acute conditions
- 30-60 mg rectally for adults
- Maximum daily dose of 80 mg
Interaction
- Contraindicated with anticholinergic drugs
- Lowered oral bioavailability with antacids and antisecretory drugs
- Metabolism through CYP3A4
- Inhibition by azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to the drug
