Description
- Uflu is indicated for the treatment of infections due to Gram-positive organisms, including infections caused by penicillinase producing staphylococci. It is active against Gram-positive organisms including penicillinase producing strains.

- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Respiratory tract infections
- Osteomyelitis
- Enteritis
- Endocarditis
- Urinary tract infection
- Meningitis
- Septicaemia
- Prophylactic agent for major surgical procedures
Pharmacology
- Acts by inhibiting the formation of cell wall of bacteria
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Kills bacterial cell wall
- Interferes with peptidoglycan synthesis
- Has little activity against Gram-negative bacilli
- Stable in gastric acid
Dosage
- Oral administration
- Parenteral administration
- Intramuscular Injection

Administration
- Oral doses should be administered 1 hour before meal
Interaction
- Concurrent use with certain medications may result in increased levels of Uflu in the blood for prolonged period
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients

- Caution in severe renal failure

- Reduction in dose or extension of dose interval in severe renal failure (creatinine clearance <10 ml/min)
