Indications
- Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections
- Treatment of respiratory tract infections
- Prophylactic agent for surgery
- Treatment of osteomyelitis, enteritis, endocarditis, urinary tract infection, meningitis, septicaemia
Pharmacology
- Active against Gram-positive organisms
- Inhibits formation of bacteria cell wall
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Kills bacterial cell wall by interfering with peptidoglycan synthesis
Dosage
- Oral administration for adults, children, and parenteral administration for adults, elderly, and children
Administration
- Oral doses should be administered 1 hour before a meal
Interaction
- Concurrent use may result in increased level of Flutec in blood
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients

- Common gastrointestinal side effects
- Minor gastrointestinal disturbances
- Rashes, urticaria, purpura, fever
- Interstitial nephritis, hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice

Precautions & Warnings
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic dysfunction
- Caution in the treatment of patients with an allergic diathesis
