Indications
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Respiratory tract infections

Pharmacology
- Active against Gram-positive organisms
- Resistant to hydrolysis by penicillinase
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Inhibits bacterial cell wall formation
- Gastric acid stability
Dosage
- Adult oral dose: 250 mg four times daily
- Children under 2 years: 1/4 of adult dose
- Intravenous Injection: 250 mg-1 g four times daily
- All systemic doses may be doubled in severe infections
Administration
Oral doses should be administered 1 hour before meals
Interaction
Concurrent use may result in increased level of Silox in blood for prolonged period
Contraindications
Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
