Description
Alton 20 mg Tablet is indicated for the relief from chronic heartburn symptoms, healing of erosive esophagitis, maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis, eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, acid-related dyspepsia, duodenal ulcer, and gastric ulcer.

Pharmacology
Suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the H+/K+-ATPase in the gastric parietal cell.
Interactions
- Metabolizing Enzymes: Extensively metabolized in the liver by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- Potential Interference: May interfere with absorption of drugs where gastric pH is an important determinant of bioavailability
