DosageForm
- Oral capsule

Dosage
- 20mg or 40mg once daily for 4-8 weeks for erosive esophagitis
- 20mg for maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis
- 20mg once daily for symptomatic GERD for 4 weeks
- 40mg once daily for Helicobacter pylori eradication
- 20-80mg daily for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- 20-40mg once daily for 2-4 weeks for acid-related dyspepsia
- 20mg once daily for duodenal ulcer and 20-40mg once daily for gastric ulcer
- Differing dosages for pediatric patients based on body weight
Administration
- Tablet or capsule should be swallowed whole and taken one hour before a meal
- Oral suspension should be stirred well and taken with water; can be administered through a nasogastric or gastric tube
- IV injection should be administered over a period of at least 3 minutes
Interaction
- Metabolized by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- Unlikely to inhibit CYPs 1A2, 2A6, 2C9, 2D6, 2E1, and 3A4
- May interfere with the absorption of certain drugs
- Potential interactions with clarithromycin and amoxicillin
